1. Your Account

You are responsible for the security of your account and password. Do not share your password with anyone. We are not responsible for any loss or damage resulting from your failure to protect your login information.

2. User Conduct & Rules

We want Voxel Cookie Online to be a fun and fair game for everyone. You agree not to do any of the following:

• Use any cheats, bots, scripts, auto-clickers, or any method to send click data to the server faster than a human can reasonably perform. Our server actively monitors for suspicious activity (e.g., abnormally high click-per-second rates).
• Create an account with a username that is offensive, vulgar, hateful, or impersonates another person.
• Attempt to disrupt, hack, or reverse-engineer the game's servers or API.
• Spam follow/unfollow requests or otherwise abuse the social features.

Usernames must be between 3 and 20 characters and contain only letters and numbers (A-Z, a-z, 0-9).

3. Termination & Banning

We reserve the right to temporarily or permanently ban any account that violates these terms, with or without warning.

Cheating or attempting to exploit the game will result in an automatic, escalating ban. The duration of the ban (e.g., 1 day, 5 days, 30 days) increases with each offense and is at our sole discretion. Your ban status and its expiry time are public information and will be visible on your user profile.

4. Game Rules

To ensure fairness, there is a 24-hour cooldown period for changing your username.

5. Disclaimers

This game is provided "as is" without any warranties. We do not guarantee that the game will be online 24/7, be free of bugs, or that your progress will never be lost. By playing, you accept the risk that the service may change or be discontinued at any time.

6. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Your continued use of the game after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data we collect and why.

What We Collect

We collect different data depending on whether you are a Registered User or a Guest User.

1. Registered Users

When you create an account, we collect and store the following information on our servers:

• Username: This is public and used to identify you in the game.
• Password: We store a secure, one-way hash of your password. We never see or store your plaintext password.
• Click Count: Your total score, which is public.
• Skin Data: Your currently equipped skin (`active_skin`) and your list of `unlocked_skins`. Your list of unlocked skins is public.
• Account Status: Your ban level and the date your ban expires (`ban_until`), if any. This information is public.
• Username Cooldown: We store the time of your last username change (`last_username_change`) to enforce the 24-hour cooldown.
• Follower Data: We store your `follower_count` and `following_count` (both public). We also store the list of users you follow and who follows you.
• IP Address: We may log IP addresses for security purposes, such as to detect cheating or prevent spam.

2. Guest Users

When you play as a guest, we store the following information only in your browser's Local Storage:

• A unique Guest Device ID to identify your local save.
• Your Click Count.
• Your Unlocked Skins and Active Skin.

If you clear your browser data, use a different browser, or switch devices, this guest data will be permanently lost. Your guest clicks are sent anonymously to our server only to contribute to the global click count.

How We Use Your Data

We use your data for the following purposes:

• To provide and maintain the game's functionality.
• To display your Username, Click Count, Ban Status, list of Unlocked Skins, Follower Count, and Following Count on the public leaderboard and on your public user profile, which is viewable by all other players.
• To identify and ban users who violate our Terms of Use (e.g., cheaters).
• To add your clicks (anonymously, if a guest) to the global click count.

Data Storage & Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. All passwords are hashed using modern, secure algorithms before being stored. However, no online service is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties. All data is used exclusively for the operation of Voxel Cookie Online.

Children's Privacy

This game is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
